Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiency execute the processing for reproducing a reloadable disk by a drive for a read-only disk.
SOLUTION: WBBMs are recorded in the lead-in area of the reloadable disk. The WBBMs are a bit map indicating recorded/unrecorded at every block which is an unit of recording and reproducing. The drive of the read-only disk is subjected to finalization to record dummy data in the periphery of the recorded blocks in order to enable seeking and to stabilize servo. As this time, the efficiency of the processing may be improved by referencing the WBBMs. The plural WBBMs are formed to a ring structure and the WBBMs are successively updated, by which the concentration of the writing to the same area is prevented and in addition, the compensation for the destruction of the WBBMs by a power interruption, etc., is made possible. The latest WBBMs may be indicated by the value of an updating counter.
