Abstract:

To prevent illegal use, and to allow use of a content in a plurality of pieces of equipment by a person having a normal use right.

The first key and the content stored in a first recording medium are read out in a step S1002, and a second key transmitted from a recording medium having a transmission means is received in a step S1004. Correspondence between a first key and a second key is determined based on the first key and the second key, in a step S1006, and the content is enciphered in a step S1008, when the correspondence between the first key and the second key is determined correct. The enciphered content and the first key are recorded in the second recording medium in a step S1009. The present invention is applicable for a personal computer for recording the content.
