PURPOSE: To simplify the structure by stopping recording papers by size at different positions by use of an abutting roller for pressing a recording paper by the movement up and down in accordance with the recording paper fed and dropped into an intermediate tray and conveying it to a specified position.

CONSTITUTION: A tip-paper aligning roller 113 is adapted to oscillate up and down and to be driven to rotate. When a recording paper P is inserted from a conveying roller 111 onto the loading face of an intermediate tray 120, the roller 113 is driven to rotate, and the paper P slides on the face of the intermediate tray 120 by pressing-rotation of the roller 113, and is abutted against either of moving stoppers 123A - 123E of a tip-paper restricting member 123 previously stood up in accordance with the size of the recording paper and then stopped. Alignment of the tip-paper is performed to align the paper each time the paper P is inserted.
