Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve controllabilty for superheating degree control of an evaporator or for excessive cooling control of a condenser by decreasing time interval for opening degree control when the capacity of a compressor is high and increasing this time interval when the capacity of the compressor is low.
CONSTITUTION: Degree of superheating is controlled by setting the opening degree of an expansion valve 8 to a prescribed opening degree based on the detected temperature of first and second temperature sensors 16 and 17. A controller 18 sends an opening degree control signal to the expansion valve 8. N value is set depending on the capacity of a compressor. If the N value is an arbitrary integer, for example, 6 (the compressor has about 4.0 horsepower), a 5 second timer is set six times until the N value reaches 0 from 6 and the degree of superheating is controlled after a total of 30 seconds. In the meantime, if the N value is 2 (the compressor has about 8.1 horsepower), the 5 second timer is set two times until the N value reaches 0 from 2, and the degree of superheating is controlled after 10 seconds. Thus, a smooth control with no hunting can be achieved.
