To provide a refrigerator in which cooling is performed by one evaporator, and in which an energy saving performance is improved by effectively utilizing cold energy residual in an evaporator during compressor stop while preventing high-temperature air from flowing into a freezing space.
When a compressor is stopped after the end of a refrigeration cooling mode in which air cooled by an evaporator is blown to a refrigeration space, or a freeze cooling mode in which air cooled by the evaporator is blown to a freezing space, a refrigeration blow-out damper for opening/closing a flow passage to supply air cooled by the evaporator to the refrigeration space is opened, and a freeze blow-out damper for opening/closing a flow passage to supply air cooled by the evaporator to the freezing space is closed. A freeze suction damper for opening/closing a flow passage to return air in the freezing space to a space where the evaporator is accommodated, is closed and an evaporator fan is rotated.
