PURPOSE: To provide the titled drug containing guanosine monophosphate as an active component, exhibiting blood platelet coagulation suppressing effect, useful as a remedy for thrombosis, and having low toxicity.
CONSTITUTION: The objective drug contains guanosine monophosphate (GMP) of formula (one of X, Y and Z is H2PO3 and the other two are H) as an active component. GMP is a known substance existing in the living body, and is present e.g. in the pancreas, liver, spleen, etc. It can be synthesized from guanosine existing in e.g. the spleen. GMP of formula exhibits strong activity to inhibit the thrombin-induced coagulation of blood platelet in vitro as well as by the animal (rabbit) experiment by oral and intravenous administration. Furthermore, it has extremely low toxicity and is administrable continuously for a long period, and accordingly, it is useful as a remedy for thrombosis.
