PURPOSE: To perform special reproduction by switching and selecting control signals for indicating the presence or absence, direction, etc., of a track shift, and a control signal specified by an operator, and then forcing a reproducing stylus to shift in track.
CONSTITUTION: On a disk 1 which rotates at a high speed, control signals which indicate the presence or absence, direction, and mode of a track shift in order to force a reproducing stylus 2 to shift in track are recorded by being superposed upon a video signal during the vertical blanking period of the video signal. The synchronizing signal of the video signal of a reproduced signal read out of the disk 1 by the reproducing stylus 2 and an external reference signal are used to extract the control signals from the reproduced signal. Those control signals and a control signal for reproduction specified by an operator are brought under switching control 10. Thus, the control signals are used selectively to permit the reproducing stylus 2 to shift in track, performing special reproduction.
