Title:
RESETTING METHOD FOR BISTABLE SEMICONDUCTOR LASER AND OPTICAL MEMORY USED FOR EXECUTING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03134635
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reset a laser by providing a bistable semiconductor laser, a current bias circuit, a photocoupler, a photoelectric conversion circuit and a delay circuit CONSTITUTION:A bistable semiconductor laser 1 can be turned to to stable states such as an ON state and an OFF state under a fixed current bias. A light pulse received by a photocoupler 3 is split and one pulse is inputted to the bistable laser 1. Then, the laser 1 is set to the ON state. The other pulse is formed to be a current pulse through an optical/electric converter 4, supplied through a delay circuit 5 to a current bias circuit 2 and overlapped to the current bias of the laser 1. Then, the laser 1 is reset. Thus, an optical memory can be obtained with a short response time at the time of setting, and it is very effective for the high-speed operation and high-speed performance of a system.
