Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resinoid grinding wheel for heavy duty grinding capable of minimizing the resulting waste.
SOLUTION: This resinoid grinding wheel for heavy duty grinding 10 comprises an inside reinforcement part 10a for enhancing the mechanical strength and a grinding part 10b integrally provided on the outside of the reinforcement part 10a in which abrasive grains 12 are mutually bonded through a phenolic resin. The reinforcement part 10a is made of steel having substantially the same thermal expansion coefficient as the grinding part 10b. Since the elastic modulus of the reinforcement part 10a is higher than in the past, the grinding ratio can be improved. Since the production efficiency is consequently improved, and the life of the resinoid cutting grinding wheel 10 is also extended, the generation of spent grinding wheels can be minimized. Further, since the reinforcement part 10a of the spent grinding wheel is made of steel, it can be repeatedly used with less possibility of breakage and deformation. The resulting waste can be thus remarkably minimized.
