Abstract:

To provide a rhamnoside ester derivative having at least two hydroxy groups each protected with a different protecting group.

The rhamnoside diester compound represented by general formula (I) (wherein X is a 1-8C alkyl group or an aryl group; R1 and R2 are each an acyl group, a sulfonyl group or an oxycarbonyl group; and R1 and R2 are each a protecting group different from each other) is provided by causing a rhamnoside ester compound to react with a protecting group-introducing agent in the presence of a dialkyltin compound and a base.
