PURPOSE: To provide a robot device light in weight, high in durability and wide in a working range of a robot head.

CONSTITUTION: This device is equipped with a base bed 12, a supporting member 14, a hanging supporting arm 16, a movable body 38 provided at one end part thereof, a first link 22 pivotaly attached to the movable body 38 at one end, a robot head 20, a second link 24 pivotaly attached to the other end part of the hanging supporting arm 16 at one end part and to the midway part of the first link 22 at the other end part, and a moving means 26 for elevating the midway part of the first link 22 to which the other end part of the second link 24 is pivotaly attached. In the first and the second links 22, 24, a ratio of distance between the pivot point W of the first link 22 to the other end part of the second link 24 and the pivot point X of the hanging supporting arm 16 to the one end part of the second link 24 to distance between the pivot point Y of the movable body 38 to the first link 22 W and the point W is equal to a ratio of the distance between the point Y and the point W to the distance between an installation point Z of the robot head 20 and the point W, and the movable body 38 is assembled to moved on a straight line including the point X and the point Y.
