In this rotary barrel device, a hollow and wedge-shaped lining member 2 having a sieve part 3 on its bottom face is additionally fixed on an inner face of the rotatable barrel by directing the sieve part 3 in the direction of rotation, and grinding dust and decontaminated radioactive material are separated from the abrasive and polished object through the sieve part 3 while the barrel rotates and are recovered inside the lining member.
