Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform compensation so that fluctuation of rotary torque produced through high speed up/down motion of an object holder is not transmitted to the drive crank mechanism therefor.
SOLUTION: A rotary microtome 1 comprises a crank transmission for driving an object slider 4 having an object holder for slice sample and moving up and down along a vertical path 3. A mass compensator 6 is provided in order to compensate for the motion mass of the object slider 4. The mass compensator 6 comprises an adjustable preloaded spring element 7. The spring element 7 compensates for the varying inertial force through a turnable lever 8 which is coupled with the object slider 4 through a tension means 9 and urged by the spring to exhibit a compensating function.
