To provide a rotation status detecting device for simply detecting the rotational direction of a rotating body, and to provide a rotation status detection method.
The rotation status detecting device includes a magnet for generating bias magnetic field, first and second bridge circuits composed of a pair of magnetoresistance effect elements for generating resistant change by the status change of the bias magnetic field corresponding to rotation of an object to be detected by facing a uneveness shaped magnetic rotating body which is the object to be detected in the bias magnetic field of the magnet and being arranged in the rotational direction in parallel, and a detection means, having a second comparator for outputting a logical value, by detecting the size of a middle point voltage and the reference voltage of the first bridge circuit and detecting the size of middle point voltages and reference voltages of a first comparator and the second bridge circuit and for detecting the changes in the output of the first and second comparator.
