Abstract:

To provide a rotation transmission device capable of miniaturizing an electromagnetic clutch.

In this rotation transmission device, a roller 8 is incorporated between a cylindrical surface 3 of an outer ring 2 and a cam surface 5 of an inner ring 4, and the roller 8 is engaged with the cylindrical surface 3 and the cam surface 5 by relative rotation of a cage 6 and the inner ring 4. The electromagnetic clutch 20 for controlling engagement and an engagement release is arranged on one side of a two-way clutch 1 for transmitting rotational torque between mutual ones of the outer ring 2 and the inner ring 4. The electromagnetic clutch 20 is formed of an armature 21 movable in the axial direction, a rotor 22 opposed to the armature 21 and an electromagnet 23 attracting the armature 21 to the rotor 22 by current-carrying. A rolling bearing 33 composed of a magnetic member is incorporated between an inside cylindrical part 22b formed in the rotor 22 and the electromagnet 23, and when carrying an electric current to the electromagnet 23, a magnetic flux is made to flow with the rolling bearing 33 as a magnetic path, and even when adopting the small electromagnet 23, attraction force of the sufficient size is applied to the armature 21.
