To provide a rotational transmission member and its manufacturing method, which requires no special shaping work to prevent the part of a metal insert member joined to a resin gear from releasing and peeling.

The rotational transmission member includes: the shaft-shape metal insert member 12 having a first gear part 11 or 111 on the outer periphery; and a resin gear 14 formed by resin-molding on the outer periphery on one end side of the metal insert member to have a second gear part 13 or 113 on the outer periphery of the resin gear. The first gear part is formed substantially over the whole length of the metal insert member. The first gear part contains an insert part 17 on the periphery on the one end side on which the resin gear is resin molded.
