Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a route by methods other than a destination setting method.
SOLUTION: A map-data storage part 3 reads out course information on a driving course from a disk in a course-information storage means such as a DVD-ROM or the like. A control circuit 1 displays the read-out course information on a display part 6 hierachically. When a desired driving course is selected by a switch-information input part 4 from many driving courses, the control circuit 1 calculates and sets a route on the basis of position information on the entrance, the exit and the passage point of the driving course. Data which introduces the content of the course and data on a highlight point are contained in the course information so as to be displayed on the display part 6 as required. Eve when a user does not know a sightseeing area or the like, it is possible to simply set the route containing the driving course.
