This rubber damper 1 comprises a vibration isolating member 2 formed of a rubber vibration isolating member 3 having a surface layer 6 formed by immersing it in the solution or water-dispersed liquid of an inorganic powder, drying it, and removing moisture therefrom and the fittings 4 and 5 disposed on the upper and lower sides of the rubber vibration isolating member. A mounting bolt 10 is inserted into the connection part of a stabilizer 7 and a suspension member 8 disposed between the pair of vibration isolating member 2 together with the vibration isolating member 2 to axially hold the vibration isolating member 2, the stabilizer 7, and the suspension member 8 in a compressed state.
