PURPOSE: To prevent contamination of cargoes on a pallet by covering a horizontal moving part with a cover, in a fork-lift having a moving head which is horizontally moved.
CONSTITUTION: In a fork-lift having a moving head 5 which is horizontally moved, a belt 12 fixed to the two ends of racks 7 and 7 is supported by one or more guide rollers 14 and 15 arranged to the moving head 5. The two ends of the belt 12 formed of rubber are respectively fixed to the two ends of the rack 7, and the belt is arranged such that the three sides of a pinion 8 are covered therewith in a state that a tension is exerted in inward direction on the belt at a pair of guide rollers 14 located on the side near a car body and the tension is exerted in an outward direction on a pair of guide rollers 15 located on the side spaced away from the car body. Thus, since, during movement in a horizontal direction, a horizontal movement space for a pinion is formed by the belt 12 with the aid of the guide rollers, a cargo is prevented from contamination, a trouble owing to lodging of a foreign matter is prevented from occurring, and a handling work is further improved.
