Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a scaly zinc powder usable for both an oil-soluble and a water- soluble coating compound, having improved corrosion resistance, by adding a specific amount of graphite as a scale-making auxiliary to a globular zinc powder and by milling the powder in a ball mill.
CONSTITUTION: 1W10 wt.% of graphite is added as a scale-making auxiliary to a globular zinc powder, and the resulting mixture is milled a ball mill to give the desired scaly zinc powder. For instance, a coating compound is blended with the scaly zinc powder to give a zinc powder concentration of 50W90 wt.% in s dried film
