Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the restraining function of a seat belt by restricting a slack-giving control when a belt is worn at a speed higher than a defined speed. CONSTITUTION:A motor 25 which rotates a belt winding shaft 2 in a belt- delivering direction, is connected to the belt winding shaft 2. Also, a mechanical tensionless mechanism 17 which checks the rotation of the winding shaft 2 in the belt-winding direction, is meshed with a gear mechanism 8 which is linked to the winding shaft 2. And, these tensionless mechanism 17 and motor 25 are controlled by an output means 30a to make slack-giving control of a belt. However, when a car speed reaches a defined car speed or above, a signal is inputted into a restricting means 30b from a sensing means 34 such as a car-speed pulse generator, etc., to restrict the control by the output means 30a. Thereby, a seat belt can maintain its proper function without being subjected to an unnecessary slackening control.
