To provide a seat structure of a scooter type vehicle, of which the openable type seat has improved usability, and further of which the operability of its release lever that releases the holding of the seat's position at open and the recognizability in its position have been upgraded.

The seat structure of a scooter type vehicle is of a tandem type seat consisting of a driver's seat and a passenger's seat 21 placed behind the driver's seat, wherein both the driver's seat and passenger's seat 21 are attached to the vehicle' body side in an openable manner with respective spindles as respective centers. The structure comprises a locking mechanism 93 that holds the passenger's seat 21 at an open position, a release arm 86 that releases locking by way of the locking mechanism 93, and the release lever 53 coupled via an operation cable 52 with the release arm 86; and the release lever 53 is placed in the vicinity of the other end side of the spindle 59 of the passenger's seat 21 to make the operation of this release lever 53 activate the release arm 86, so that the holding by the locking mechanism 93 of the seat 21 at the open position can be released.
