Title:
SELF-DIAGNOSTIC DEVICE FOR D/A CONVERTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2949940
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To realize the self-diagnosis as to the linearity of the D/A converter with the device of simple circuit configuration.
CONSTITUTION: A CPU 14 gives a step output command to a D/A converter (DAC) 10 being a diagnostic object. An output of the DAC 10 is fed to a filter 28 via a switch 26, and smoothed in the filter 28. An output of the filter 28 is differentiated by a differentiation circuit 30 and the result is fed to a comparator 18. The comparator 18 compared a reference voltage from a reference voltage circuit 16 with an output of the differentiation 30 so as to discriminate whether or not the output is resident within a prescribed range and the result is informed to the CPU 14 via a PIO 20. The CPU 14 diagnoses whether or not the linearity of the DAC 10 is excellent based on the output of the comparator 18. When the linearity of the DAC 10 is not excellent, since the output of the comparator 18 differs from that when the linearity is excellent and then the linearity of the DAC 10 is diagnosed.
