Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a low power consumption by enabling power consumption of a transmission circuit unit to be reduced in a standby state.SOLUTION: A semiconductor device of an embodiment has: a physical unit that receives a power supply signal and identification signal from a connector for connecting an external apparatus that transmits the power supply signal and identification signal; and a transmission control unit that can detect the connection of the external apparatus on the basis of the power supply signal and identification signal received by the physical unit. The semiconductor device includes: a transmission circuit unit that can perform data communication with the external apparatus; and a power control unit for performing power control based on a power-saving mode and normal mode, which stops power supply to the transmission circuit unit in the power-saving mode, detects a connection event of the external apparatus to the connector on the basis of the power supply signal and identification signal, and starts power supply to the transmission circuit unit.
