PURPOSE: To accurately detect limit temperature capable of operation, and obtain a semiconductor integrated circuit device capable of contributing to the extension of operation temperature range.
CONSTITUTION: Temperature sensitive elements 7, 9 are contained in a package 3 of a semiconductor integrated circuit device 1. A circuit 29 for processing information of the elements 7, 9 is contained in a semiconductor chip 5. Temperature detection signal formed by the circuit 29 is led out to the outside of the semiconductor chip 5. Hence the temperature sensitive elements 7, 9, which are built in the same package so as to be adjacent to the semiconductor chip 5, accurately follow the temperature change of the semiconductor chip 5, and their characteristics change. On the basis of the characteristics change, the internal processing circuit 29 of the semiconductor chip 5 itself detects the temperature state, and outputs it to the outside. Thereby the limit temperature capable of operation can be accurately obtained.
