PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor device of new structure with which it is possible to detect with excellent reliability the approach or contact of a worker, etc., to or with the movement unit of an automatic device.SOLUTION: Provided is a sensor device 10 for detecting the approach or contact of a detection object A to or with a movement unit 18 provided in an automatic device 12 and capable of moving, the sensor device 10 comprising a first sensor 26 for detecting the detection object A at a position away from the movement unit 18, as well as a second sensor 36 for detecting the detection object A at a position closer to the movement unit 18 than for the first sensor 26 and a third sensor 54 for detecting the detection object A at a position closer to the movement unit 18 than for the first sensor 26, with approach of the detection object A to the movement unit 18 detected by both the second sensor 36 and the third sensor 54 at a position closer to the movement unit 18 than a position detectable by the first sensor 26.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
