To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery separator enhanced in the effect of preventing short circuit by controlling the shape of dendrite.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery separator according to an embodiment of the present invention is 0.20 or less in the coefficient of variation of ion resistances calculated from local ion resistances measured by a probe of 7 mm-length×250 μm-width at 10 points located at intervals of 800 μm in any region of 1.5 cm×1.5 cm in at least one surface of the separator.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
