To provide a method and a device which manufacture a low-cost full color display device using a simple optical instrument.
A serial color display device generates a full color video on a video surface 214 by using a white light source 202. A dynamic filter 206 generates a beam of the light of a series of primary colors to sweep on the surface of a space light modulator 210. The light rejected by the dynamic filter 206 enters into an optical recycle device 204, and is re-applied to the dynamic filter 206. The dynamic filter 206 produces all three primary colors simultaneously. Parts applied by the dynamic filter 206 are projected on a modulator 210. A controller 216 gives the corresponding video data for each part of the modulator 210 synchronizing with the sweep of a primary color band on the modulator surface. The space light modulator 210 modulates the primary color band and makes the modulated light converge on the video surface 214. A viewer integrates the light which reaches each part of the video surface 214 during a flame and perceives the full color video.
