PURPOSE: To provide a grinding wheel capable of grinding ceramics and high- hardness materials with high accuracy and efficiency.

CONSTITUTION: A grinding wheel has grooves 16 formed in the outer peripheral surface of its cylindrical part, has radial grooves 14 formed at its end face portion, has a hole 19 formed in its shank in such a way as to be parallel to the axis of rotation, and has blades 20 in the hole 19. Therefore, high-speed rotation of the grooves in the outer peripheral surface and the radial grooves in the end face of the grinding wheel ensures that a coolant is supplied to a machining part, thus reducing the wear of the grinding wheel and damage to work such as chipping and cracking.
