Abstract:
To optimize the energy absorbing characteristics while damage of any component part in an engine room can be kept in minimum.
A vertical flange 16 protruding toward a vehicle body is furnished at the side edge of a hood 10. When an external force exceeding a specified level is applied from above to the hood 10, the vertical flange 16 abuts to the receptacle surface 20a at the side edge of a front fender 20 so as to generate an initial reaction force, and after it, the vertical flange 16 is deformed.
