PURPOSE: To perform signal detection precisely by calculating the mean movement of an input signal and generating the base line signal of the input signal, and adding the upper and lower limit values to the generated signal and thus obtaining threshold values for comparison with the input signal.
CONSTITUTION: AN input signal from a terminal 21 is held by the holding circuit 26 composed of capacitors A1∼An through a buffer 24, a variable resistance 25, and a multiplexer 27. The sum of outputs of the holding circuit 26 is calculated by an adding circuit 34 and passed through a variable attenuator 35 to generate the base line signal of the input signal. Upper and lower limit values 42 and 43 are added to the base line signal by adders 40 and 41, whoise outputs are applied to comparators 44 and 45. The input signal is applied to and compared by the comparators 44 and 45 to detect a signal on the base line of the input signal, and the deteched signal is outputted to terminals 46 and 47.
