Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicon nitride roller having a crowning formed therein and reliability higher than conventional one, a silicon nitride manufacturing method, and a silicon nitride inspection method.SOLUTION: A silicon nitride inspection method includes the step of preparing a plurality of columnar bodies 1 main components of which are silicon nitrides, a plurality of processing materials 2 main components of which are silicon nitrides, metal oxide powders lower in hardness than the columnar body 1, and a dispersion medium 3, the step of mixing the plurality of columnar bodies 1, the plurality of processing materials 2, the metal oxide powders, and the dispersion medium 3 to slide the columnar bodies 1 and the processing materials 2 into contact with each other, and the step of inspecting molded bodies obtained from the columnar bodies 1 in the slide-contact step. In the step of inspecting molded bodies, the presence of internal defects in the molded bodies are inspected by inspecting light passed through at least a part of the molded bodies by exposing light to the molded bodies.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
