To provide a hydrous soft contact lens allowing long-term continuous wearing, a new copolymer for the hydrous soft contact lens, and a method for obtaining the copolymer in a mold.
A hydrous soft contact lens has a surface contact angle of 10-30° measured by a captive bubble method in water and a surface contact angle of 40-83°measured by a sessile drop method in air, has an oxygen permeability (a Dk value) of not less than 30, and has a water content of not less than 5%. A copolymer for the hydrous soft contact lens is obtained by polymerizing a hydrophilic siloxane monomer and a hydrophilic monomer. In a method for forming the hydrous soft contact lens, the hydrous soft contact lens is formed in a mold made of one kind of resin selected from polyamide, polyethylene, polyethylene terephthalate, and ethylene vinyl alcohol.
