The sorting apparatus to sort a sheet material after processing an image and discharged by a conveying mechanism of an image processing machine is composed of a housing body having a plurality of housing rooms to house the sheet material discharged from the conveying mechanism, a guide body which moves along a housing slot of each housing room and guides the sheet material discharged from the conveying mechanism to one of the housing rooms, and a driving mechanism to move the guide body. The guide body moves to the position corresponding to the housing slot of each housing room by the driving mechanism and guides the sheet material discharged from the conveying mechanism to the selected one of the housing rooms.
