To provide a spatter detection method capable of surely detecting the generation of spatters in resistance welding without being influenced by surrounding light, and to provide a device therefor.
The spatter detection device 1 in resistance welding is composed of: a welding power source 2; an electrode 3; a photosensor 4 (optical measuring means); a temperature sensor 5 (temperature measuring means); a displacement sensor 6 (displacement measuring means); a current sensor 7; and a spatter discriminating apparatus 8. Then, the spatter discriminating apparatus 8 discriminates the measured result from the photosensor 4 based on the measured result from the temperature sensor 5 or the displacement sensor 6. Thus, the generation of spatters can surely be detected without being influenced by surrounding light.
