Abstract:
A planar illumination device (1) according to an embodiment comprises a frame (2, 16) and a light shielding component (4). The frame (2, 16) has a deficient part (1b) for arranging other components therein, the deficient part being provided on an outer peripheral end side of the frame and constituted by a hole with a closed outer periphery. The light shielding component (4) has a cylindrical shape, is arranged in the deficient part (1b) and surrounds the hole.
