Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a squaring calculator approximate to ideal square-law characteristics.
CONSTITUTION: The cathode of a diode D1 is connected to the anode of a diode D2, one terminal of a compensating resistor R is connected to the anode e of the diode D1, and the other terminal of the compensating resistor R is connected to one output of the squaring calculator. When the diode D1 is electrified backward, the diode D2 is electrified forward. Therefore, the peak current of the diode D2 is provided so as to compensate the lower part of electrification characteristic curve of the diode D1 and as a result, this coupled lower part of the characteristic curve shows the exact square-law characteristics.
