To provide a staying time estimation device and a staying time estimation method which can estimate accurate staying time of a user of a mobile communication terminal.
In a staying time estimation device 12, a point data acquisition unit 123 acquires point data generated in an area set by an area setting unit 122 and in a time zone before and after when a mobile communication terminal 2 stays in this area, and a travel speed calculation unit 124 calculates travel speed of the mobile communication terminal 2 based on the point data. A time estimation unit 125 estimates staying start time when staying in the area has started and staying finish time when staying in the area has finished based on the calculated travel speed and the point data, and a staying time estimation unit 126 estimates staying time from the staying start time and staying finish time. This enables accurate estimation of staying time of the mobile communication terminal 2 in the set area.
