Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the number of spare rotors in a steam turbine comprising a plurality of cylinder sections, and to facilitate the maintenance and inspection, by making couplings have the same shape and dimensions as a coupling having a maximum transmission power. CONSTITUTION:The steam passage parts of sections A, B have the shape and dimensions. The couplings 20a-20d are designed to have the same shape and dimensions as the coupling 20d having a maximum transmission power. In front of the rotors 8a, 8b spigot joints 21 having the same dimensions are provided to carry out an engagement with a main oil pump driving shaft 16. In a replacement schedule including two acting rotors and one spare rotors, the solid lines stand for using time of the rotors, the dotted lines stand for rutine inspection and repairing periods, and the blank sections stand for rest periods of the rotors. Thus the number of the spare rotors can be decreased, and the period required for the inspection maintenance can be reduced.
