To retains a stable elastic force over a long time, alleviate a burden on the feet and waist of a person caused by his or her body weight when the person steps up and down steps, and reduce time and labor for adjusting dimension by virtue of expansion and contraction of a rubber chip surface member and a rubber chip standing member to a certain extent in installation of a step structure to thereby improve installation work efficiency.
A standing-side end of the rubber chip surface member is inserted into a recess formed in the rubber chip standing member secured to a step standing foundation of the following step, and while a step-side end of the rubber chip surface member is positioned to an upper end face of the rubber chip standing member secured to the step standing foundation of the preceding step, an engaging portion is engaged with an engaged portion, and at the same time the rubber chip surface member is secured to a step surface foundation.
