PURPOSE: To display high quality stereo image by arranging a deflection film, comprising deflection gratings, in which right and left deflection elements, whose deflection axes intersect at right angle, are mutually arranged, on the inner surface of a face plate of a cathode ray tube.

CONSTITUTION: A deflection film, comprising deflection gratings, in which right and left deflection elements 8R and 8L, whose deflection axes intersect at right angle are arranged in a stripe shape, is arranged on the inner surface of a face plate of a cathode ray tube. Fluorescent material stripes 9R and 9L are formed on the deflection elements 8R and 8L and a metal back layer 11 is formed on the whole surface to form a fluorescent surface. Electron beams b which are modulated by information signals are selectively bombarded on the surface of corresponding right and left defflection elements. Since a time sharing display is not used, flicker of image is eliminated and high quality image is obtained.
