To reduce moire stripes generated on the display screen of 3D images in a stereoscopic video display device using a liquid crystal panel as a video display device and provided with a liquid crystal parallax barrier.
In displaying 3D images in the stereoscopic video display device provided with the liquid crystal parallax barrier on the surface of the liquid crystal panel, voltage to be applied on the liquid crystal parallax barrier is set to voltage to be set immediately before saturation. The voltage to be applied on the liquid crystal parallax barrier is preferably set to voltage by which the transmissivity of a shielding part of the liquid crystal parallax barrier is 2-25% and voltage for setting the transmissivity of the shielding part of the liquid crystal parallax barrier to 3-10% is preferable.
