Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire a copy of user data at a certain point of time while continuously receiving a write request for data from a host computer.
SOLUTION: Write processing 103 reads data from a use volume 110 and saves the data in a work volume 112 when copying the object block of the write request has not completed. Copying processing 105 judges whether the data of the copying object exist in the user volume 110 or in the work volume 112, reads the data and transfers the data to a magnetic tape device 117.
