A storage device for an on-vehicle storage device is composed of a housing 2 adapted to be attached to an installation body of a vehicle, a rotary shaft 3 rotatably provided in the housing 2, a first journal part 4 rotatably attached to the rotary shaft 3 at an arbitrary position of the latter, a clutch 7 provided to the rotary shaft 3 so as to be movable longitudinally of the rotary shaft 3, second journal parts 5, 6 secured to the rotary shaft at arbitrary positions thereof, a drive means having a front end part rotatably connected to the first journal part 4 and the other end part secured to the housing 2, damping members (10, 11) having front end parts rotatably connected to the second journal parts 5, 6 and the other end parts connected to the rotary shaft 3, a display carrying part 16 connected to the rotary shaft 3, for carrying the display, and a clutch 7 secured to the first journal part 4.
