A roof part of an automobile is provided with a storage box 2. The length of rail members 1, 1' can therefore be lengthened to the extent of the whole length of a cabin, and a space between the rail members 1, 1' can be widened to the extent of the width of a roof, so that the size freedom of the storage box 2 is extremely high, and even a large-sized object can be stored making effective use of space in the cabin. In a storage device, the storage box 2 can be detached from the rail members 1, 1' by opening the end parts of the rail members 1, 1' and can be stored in a trunk. The interior of the cabin can therefore be used wide at the time of non-use.
