PURPOSE: To secure such an inline cutting device that makes high-speed cutting performable, by embedding a cutter in a drum opposed to a roller by spring force usually, while constituting it so as to be projected to a surface of the drum with a compressed fluid in time of cutting.
CONSTITUTION: Usually, a cutter 11 is drawn back to the inside of a drum 12 by dint of a spring 15. And, in accordance with the timing of cutting a strip 3, compressed air in an air cassette 14 is discharged out, projecting the cutter 11 to a surface of the drum 12 against the spring 15. With this operation, the strip 3 is cut off. After cutting the strip, discharge of the compressed air 14 stops and simultaneously the cutter 11 is retracted to the inside of the drum 12 by dint of the spring 15. With this constitution, this cutting device is available in a high-speed strip manufacturing line as an inline system.
