Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a strip width control with a superior stability and accuracy.
SOLUTION: In the strip width control method of a continuous rolling mill with a plurality of rolling stands, a plurality of strip width estimation models are prepared. At least one out of the plurality of strip width estimation models is selected taking account of an entry tension, and then a delivery strip width on the stand is calculated based on the selected strip width estimation model. An evaluation function taking the calculated delivery strip width as a parameter is established, and the entry tension of the stand at each estimation time is calculated so as to minimize the evaluation function through the entire estimation period.
