To provide a structure for reducing a long-period wave which can obtain a short-period wave reducing effect simultaneously with the construction of an impervious wall.
In the structure, the impervious wall 11 composed of a vertical wall is provided in a position at a space which constitutes a retarding area 12 for the long-period wave in a harbor from a rear wall 10 composed of marine structures such as a ship berthing pier, a breakwater and revetment in the harbor. In the impervious wall 11, recesses 14 and protrusions 15 are alternately formed in a direction of right angles with respect to a normal line by making an angle in the long direction of the normal line alternately oriented in the direction of right angles with respect to the normal line. A vertical slit-shaped water passing opening 13 for the long-period wave, which communicates with the retarding area 12 is provided in the backmost portion of the recess 14, and the front side of the impervious wall 11 is formed of wave dissipating work to the short-period wave.
