PURPOSE: To perform the super finishing processing that follows the shape of a surface to be processed by forming a diameter of a grinding wheel, in which grinding grains exist in the base material made of elastic body, larger than a diameter of a surface to be processed, and turning the surface to be processed, and making the grinding wheel pressure-contact to the surface to be processed to rub the grinding wheel with the surface to be processed.
CONSTITUTION: A grinding wheel is made of the elastic sponge-type bonding agent having pores as the base material, and fine grinding grains are distributed in the base material, and a shaft 21 is fitted in the grinding wheel 2 and is bonded. Diameter W1 of the grinding wheel 2 is formed larger than the diameter W2 of a work 1 to be processed. Blade tip of the grinding grains are aligned automatically by the bonding agent having elasticity at the time of processing to obtain the excellent finish surface at a high accuracy, and the generation of grinding heat is reduced by the sponge-type pores to eliminate blinding. When the grinding wheel 2 is made to pressure-contact to a curved surface 11 to be processed, the grinding wheel 2 follows the shape of the curved surface 11 because of the elasticity of the grinding wheel 2. The work 1 to processed is rotated by a XY a table 6 around an axis 30 of the grinding wheel 2 by a specified eccentricity quantity to rub the work 1 to be processed with the grinding wheel 2, and the processing time is thereby reduced by half.
