PURPOSE: To alleviate attachment constraints of an ultrasonic motor, to extend a range of its application, to reduce the cost of a support, and to facilitate the manufacture thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A plate 12 is sandwiched between longitudinal torsional oscillators constituting a stator 2, and both surfaces of the plate 12 having precise parallelism. A support 13 longitudinally extends from the periphery of this plate 12 along the stator 2, and a seat plate 14 to be fixed to an external fixing member is provided on the end of the support 13. At least three supports 13 are attached at intervals to the periphery of the plate 12. In manufacturing a support 4a, a flat plate comprising the plate 12 and the supports 13 each of which includes the seat plate 14 is punched by a press mold, and the flat plate thus punched is subjected to surface grinding, so that the parallelism of the plate 12 is rendered accurate. Thereafter, the supports 13 are bent to manufacture the support 4a. Thus, the cost of the support is made inexpensive, and the mass producibility of the support is improved without producing waste material, or without unnecessary grinding.
